Ferdinand Berthoud Naissance d’une Montre 3 begins delivery of its gold series
Following a unique steel example, Ferdinand Berthoud begins delivering a ten-piece gold series of Naissance d’une Montre 3 in 2026, continuing its project to preserve traditional watchmaking skills.

At a glance
- Developed by artisans from Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud and Chopard, the project involved more than 80 artisans and specialists over five years.
- The hand-wound FB-BTC.FC combines a fusee-and-chain transmission, Breguet-type stopwork and a Guillaume-type bimetallic balance. Each movement is individually COSC certified.
- The movement comprises 747 components, operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and provides a 50-hour power reserve.
- The 18-carat white gold case measures 44.3 mm across and 13 mm high, with water resistance to 30 metres. A white gold dial carries blued steel hands and a power-reserve indicator.
- The ten-piece gold series is scheduled for production at two watches per year from 2026, priced at CHF 850,000 each. The gold is certified under the Responsible Jewellery Council’s Chain of Custody standard.
